True Blood, Glee, Ricky Martin e Chely Wright sono tra i nominati della ventiduesima edizione dei Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Media Awards, speciale riconoscimento di immagini positive di vita delle persone gay, lesbiche, bisessuali e transgender nei media. Il presidente Jarrett Barrios ha ricordato in un comunicato ufficiale:

Candidati di quest’anno rappresentano alcune delle immagini e le storie alla base della crescente accettazione della nostra comunità e il sostegno per la nostra uguaglianza. Essi hanno anche creato un punto di riferimento per l’inclusione della nostra comunità che altri mezzi di comunicazione dovrebbero guardare. GLAAD celebra 25 anni di lavoro con i media, siamo orgogliosi di riconoscere i candidati di quest’anno e sfidiamo il settore a condividere di più le storie che riflettono la diversità della nostra comunità e le sfide che le persone gay e transgender fanno quotidianamente.
